BADC presents a Bungalow House Renovation with 58 sqm floor area, located in Ciudad de Esperanza, Buhangin, Davao City. The design brief of the owners was to retain the existing spaces of the old house, yet, they wanted it more lively, bright, and spacious. Our first step was space programming: reconfiguring the spaces for better traffic flow; and incorporating multi-use spaces to have more spaces. Secondly, elevating the ceiling height and adding a skylight was a key solution in allowing enough light penetration and introducing cross-ventilation.

 

The design inspiration of the project was a combination of Scandinavian and Muji architecture. The main components or materials were natural wood texture, bare concrete, and plain white walls. Thus, we were able to create a simple yet homey-curated-design.
